SUBSTANCE: method involves determining average length of internode on one-year vine; arranging and binding sprouts on trellis surfaces so that sprout spacing is at least the average length of internode. Fruit-bearing sprouts are bound to trellis surfaces oriented into one interrow and fruitless sprouts are bound to trellis surfaces oriented into other interrow.
