FIELD: mechanical engineering; inert gas shielded welding of aluminium and its alloys by nonconsuming electrode. SUBSTANCE: output terminals of main supply source 5 are connected with inverter input terminals 8, 9. Output terminals 10, 11 of thyristor inverter are connected to spark gap. Additional DC source 6 is connected by one of its output terminals 10 through switch 7 to output terminals 10, 11 of inverter. Other output terminals of additional DC source is connected to one of inverter input terminals 8. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities owing to provision of separate control of amplitudes of direct and reverse polarity pulses. 5 dwg
