The method involves establishing a station (2) as master and another station (3) as slave, and deriving the channel demand from the current data transfer load by the master and calculating new channel and link tables. The new channel and link tables are transmitted to the mapping modules (6,3) of the master and slave. A reconfiguration signal is sent out from the master to the slave, which then sends out an acknowledgement signal when the reconfiguration signal is received.
