The objects being sucked in travel through a sluice-chamber (3) situated after the orifice in the end of the suction pipe. The sluice chamber is defined by a closure element (2) on each of the inlet (1) and outlet sides. The closure elements are in the form of grippers. When closed, the closure elements prevent the sucked-up object for travelling further yet do not interrupt the flow of the medium such as ambient air or water surrounding the object.
