Target detection method using iterative parametric signal processing

The method involves using start values from a conventional beam forming algorithm, e.g. of PTMF type. Targets are determined in terms of iterative parametric signal processing method levels (3,5,8). The iterative generated levels in a resolution beam of an actual target which fall below a preset threshold are suppressed. The threshold is fixed in relation to the maximum level height of the beam.
