The use of complexes of the transition metals Co, Cu, Mn, Fe, V and/or Ru containing specified tripodal ligands in aqueous solutions for washing textiles or hard surfaces such as crockery to bleach colored stains is claimed, the complexes acting in particular as activators for (especially inorganic) peroxy compounds.
