The invention relates to a method and arrangement for protecting, archiving and presenting historically valuable objects from the field of philately, book collecting, signature collections, jewellery, geology, geography, archeology, art including the cinema and history of art, and technology including weapons. According to the inventive method, a simple of the object is taken and pre-conditioned by applying a humectant or similar. The pre-conditioned object is placed into a casting mould or injection mould. A data carrier certifying the respective object is also positioned in the injection mould. The data carrier certificate and the object are wrapped in a translucent or transparent plastic mass or glass. This creates an inseperable bond and provides a top-quality presentation form for a historical object.
