The device has a casing (1) enclosing electronic components which can be switched between instruction, learning, examining and intelligence testing operating modes, with questions and answers obtained from a read/write memory fed to a video interface for a display monitor and selection of the correct answer from a number of possible alternatives via an operating field (5). The entered answers can be recorded, e.g. on a printer. The device has a system bus comprising an address bus, a data bus and a control bus, a microprocessor, a read/write memory, a BIOS-ROM, a video interface for a monitor and input/output devices. The monitor has a user/output display, an information display, a question field and answer fields. The device simultaneously enables connection of a keyboard interface and a drive circuit of a printer interface to connect a printer and a memory module. The keyboard interface has a start button, a menu circuit, a forwards button, a backwards button, a printer button, a console and a user mode switch.
