To spin a cladded yarn (8), a sliver (7a) of staple fibers is drawn together with a feed of an additional yarn (3), for the cladded yarn (8) to be passed to a rotating traveler unit (9). The additional yarns (3,3b;5,3a) are fed to the main drafting zone of a drawing unit (12). The sliver (7a) is composed of natural staple or synthetic fibers. The additional yarns (3,3b;5,5a) are of single- or multi-strand filaments. The staple fibers are smooth and/or untreated and/or untwisted. The yarns are delivered by a feed mechanism. The filament fibers in the cladded spun yarn (8) form 10-30 mass% of the total yarn mass, and preferably 20 mass%. An Independent claim is included for a spinning assembly with two yarn supply stations (1,2) for additional yarns (3,3b;5,5a) to be drawn off and fed to the main drafting zone of a drawing unit (12), so that they form a band of yarns brought to the sliver (7a), to be twisted together in a spinning triangle on leaving the drawing unit (12). Preferred Features: At least one guide (4a) divides the yarn (3) from its supply package (1) into two yarn components (3a,3b), to be passed towards the drawing unit (12). The two yarn components (3a,3b) are fed into the clamping gap of the final roller pair (13c) of the drawing unit (12), on both sides in relation to the sliver (7a). The rotating yarn guide assembly (9) is a ring spinner, with a traveler (18) and a ring (19) and a spindle.
