Method of increasing the catalytic activity and selectivity of carbon-carbon bonding reactions in water or multiphase systems using transition metal complex catalysts comprises carrying out reaction in the presence of water-soluble (a)chiral phosphines and diphosphines with sub-groups elements, with cocatalysis by surfactants.
