Production of pharmaceutical preparations with high disintegration rate containing difficultly soluble active ingredient, e.g. carvedilol

Rapidly disintegrating pharmaceutical preparations are produced by forming an aqueous suspension of a difficultly soluble active ingredient and water-soluble adjuvants in water and removing water from the resulting suspension. Production of pharmaceutical preparations containing difficultly soluble active ingredients and having a disintegration rate of at least 70% after 0.5 hour comprises: (1) forming an aqueous suspension of the active ingredient and water-soluble adjuvant(s); and (2) removing water from the suspension using conventional procedures to give a solid preparation.
