Long range weapon, particularly sporting rifle, has an optical sight with a front sight comprising a transparent mounting (12) for a tube (11) with a ring-shaped end face (13) which has a dazzle-reducing arrangement through which light beams which impinge on the end face parallel to the tube can be absorbed and/or deflected radially. Preferably the end face has an inclined or convex end face whose diameter reduces in the direction of the front sight so that it is effectively cone-shaped.
