Medical treatment laser and probe for dental and ENT surgery

The handpiece conducts laser light of wavelength from 0.5 to 5 mu from YAG source along fibre bundle and probe (60) in two channels (70,72) which form the protective tube. The probe has an opening (81) from which sprays gas and fluid from gas source (12) with the fluid source (14), via gas channel (50) and liquid channel (52). The radius of curvature (R1) of the first curved optical fibre bend is greater than that (R2) of the second bend, these being important for energy distribution at outlet.
