The heat exchanger has a connection for introduction of the cold carrier and for its exit after flowing through the pipes. The longitudinally extending packet of heat exchanger pipes is enclosed by a housing. The heat exchanger pipes (13) are arranged in star formation between collection pipes (11,12) centrally positioned in the housing (10). The heat exchanger pipes (13) arranged in a single plane, form a plate-shaped body. These pipes are individually connected to the introduction collection pipe (11) and to the outlet collection pipe (12). They have a round cross-section, but can also have a flatly pressed cross-section facilitating their counterpoised connection.
