The invention relates to an effective process for the separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by means of a chromatographic separation method. This is achieved in that, according to the invention, calixarene-modified separation phases are used as the stationary phase for chromatography for the separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The calixarene-modified stationary phases in liquid chromatographic separation methods are particularly suitable for the separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
