Analysis of a continuously moving, crude mineral solids stream, e.g. bulk coal ash content determination

A moving layer of raw material (7), e.g. coal, (7) passes through a beam (9) of 50-295 keV continuous spectrum gamma radiation, which is detected by a two channel, monitoring unit (4) which integrates the transmitted radiation energies over fixed time intervals, e.g. 10 seconds. First channel records 50-70 keV energy and the second channel records 70-295 keV energy.
