The tension member (1), made from stranded wires (3), is provided in a casing tube and has upper and lower fixtures. At least one stranded wire (3), which is not in connection with the tension member due to a coating of grease and a plastics covering, is used to prestress the tension member.The tension member has an upper fixture (7) and a lower fixture (8). Each stranded wire (3,4) is connected to the upper and lower connections. The lower fixtures have central recesses through which the stranded wires are guided to a following lower fixture.
