In the sepn. of a di(meth)acrylate (I) of a 4-6 C alkandiol (II) from a mixt. of (II), the mono(meth) acrylate (III) and (I) by extn. with an organic solvent (IV) in the presence of water, the mixt. contg. (I) is supplied to the middle of an extn. column and water and (V) are passed through the column in countercurrent. Also claimed is the prepn. (III), esp. butan-1,4-diol monoacrylate (IIIA).
