According to the invention, the process for measuring the state of charge of an electrochemical generator consists in: - applying to the electrochemical generator (32) a voltage pulse of lower value than its nominal voltage so as to make it deliver a discharge current, the value of the discharge current being such that the electrochemical generator (32) exhibits a univocal internal impedance characteristic as a function of its state of charge; - measuring this discharge current to estimate its state of charge.
