PURPOSE: To automatically weave an in-plane multi-axial thick three-dimensional woven fabric in high efficiency by a loom using only warp and weft. ;CONSTITUTION: A method for weaving an in-plane multi-axial thick woven fabric using a loom consisting of healds 3 through which warps are passed, a shuttle 5 reciprocated so as to insert a weft 6 into a warp opening by the heald 3, a reed 9 and a take out device 10 of a woven fabric. These healds 3 are provided in raws in a take out direction of the woven fabric 8 and simultaneously warps having numbers forming a prescribed thickness and a width are passed through each heald 3 and each heald 3 is reciprocated largely in the width direction of the woven fabric to form an opening 4, and the opening position is successively moved from one side of woven fabric width to other side. Weft 6 is successively inserted into the opening 4 and each weft 6 is arranged at a position shifted to width direction. Warp l is fixed and a crease having the prescribed width and the prescribed thickness in the first row is formed and the in-plane multi-axial thick woven fabric having continuous length is successively woven by opening, weft-inserting and beating up, and simultaneously when the opening position is different from the moving passage of the shuttle 5, the woven fabric take out device 10 is vertically moved by a base 7 for vertically moving the woven fabric so as to coincide with the moving passage of the shuttle to weave the objective woven fabric.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
