A polyurethane elastomer is prepd. by the reaction of an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer (I) with a glycol chain extender. (I) is prepd. by reacting polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) and 1-10 wt.% (based on PTMEG) of a monohydroxyl polyoxyalkylene polyether (II) with a polyisocyanate. (II) has M. wt. 500-10000. At least 50 wt.% of the oxyalkylene moieties of (II) are oxypropylene or oxybutylene moieties.
