Production of a sheet moulding material consists of cutting a composite moulding material, containing reinforcing fibre laid in a particular direction, into pieces of a predetermined shape; assembling the pieces flat, heating them and compressing them. Also claimed is the reinforced moulding sheet having a fibre contact of 55-80% by weight and a resin molecular weight of 10000-25000. Also claimed is a toe protection shell for safety shoes produced by hot pressure moulding of the moulding sheet.
