The device comprises a profiled wheel (1) composed of two parts enclosing toothed wheel gearing at the centre. The gearing is composed of a central pinion held fixed by a flat plate. The plate is locked in a variable position by a lever (6) with a lug housed in holes in the hull (9). Other toothed wheels of the same diameter are located at regular intervals on the edge of the toothed wheel. Connections between the central and edged toothed wheels are made by other greater diameter toothed wheels. Nacelles (12), acting as the rotational axis of the toothed wheels, retain the two parts of the sectioned wheel. On the domed face of the nacelles a pin acting as a pivot enables encastring blades (15). The blades pivoting around the pins have a half-toothed wheel ended by a hook. The opposite blades on the sides of the toothed wheels are synchronised in their movements by the contact with the half-toothed wheels through a passage in the nacelles and the toothed wheels. The hooks elastically hold the blades in a closed position against the sectioned wheel.
