Percolating biological sand filtration plant for waste water treatment comprises a percolating, biological sand filter system. This includes tanks (12) with beds (16) of porous material which degrade the impurities. The water is distributed onto the surface of the bed, to be recovered at the base of the tank, having passed through the porous material. The system includes a feed network (18) with a central mains line (22) in each tank, connected to distributor pipes (28). The far ends of these pipes have distribution outlets (30), which are located at regular intervals over the surfaces of the tanks.
