An elastomer joint reinforced with carbon black filler is made from EPDM and has its outer surface (4d) protected by a coating (5) based on a resin such as a fluoropolymer, a chlorosulphonated polyethylene, a PTFE or perfluoroalkoxy resin. The joint is fitted, for instance, between a glass panel (1a) and a supporting frame (3), which is shaped to receive it, and other resins can be used for the coating, for example, a fluoride ethylene polypropylene (FEP) resin, a polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) resin, or a polyvinylidenefluoride (PVDF) resin. Avoids leaving black deposit on cloth used to clean glass with normal cleaning products or water.
