The invention relates to a device for reinforcing a geosynthetic which comprises at least one layer of strands parallel. These strands of reinforcement are distributed in a first group of strands produced with a fiber having a high traction module and a value of the elongation at break of about 5% and a second group of strands produced with a fiber having a tensile modulus less than the traction module of the fiber of the first group of wires and a value of the elongation at break at least equal to 12%. The fiber of the strands of the first group is of polyvinyl acetate.
