METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COPOLYMERS WITH CONTROLLED ARCHITECTURE USING FUNCTIONAL RADICAL STARTERS IN LIVE RADICAL POLYMERIZATION, AND CORRESPONDING STARTER COMPONENTS AND COPOLYMERS
In a first step, a thermal radical polymerization of at least one monomer M1 is carried out using an initiator of formula (I) XAY in which: X and Y each represent a reactive monovalent functional group and reactivable in living radical polymerization; A represents a divalent group comprising a bond capable, in radical polymerization, of dividing to generate free radicals XD 'and EY, D and E being the two fragments of A resulting from the division of said bond, to obtain a polymer which can be represented by the formula (II) XD- (or YE-) PM1-T where T represents (1) an XD- or Y-E- terminal group which is recombinantly formed and / or (2) a terminal group has an unsaturated bond and a saturated bond which is formed by disproportionation, the T terminations being wholly or essentially of type (2) in the case where M1 is a methacrylic monomer; in a second step, conducting a living radical polymerization of the polymer (II) thus obtained, leading to the insertion between the X and D and between the Y and E of the latter of a PM2 polymer block of at least one monomer M2, the living copolymer obtained which can be used as a macro-initiator in a new step of living radical polymerization of at least one monomer M3, PM2 not representing a polystyrene or styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer sequence for a PM1 (meth) acrylic block or of polyisoprene in the case of triblock or diblock copolymers obtained with an initiator (I) of azo type, in which X and Y represent groups giving nitroxide radicals in living copolymerization. / P
