The invention relates to a safety device in the event of a collision for such a vehicle. A rigid bumper device (7), integral with the vehicle, extends in a free space between the front of the cabin (3 ) and the engine equipment (4, 5). It is coordinated with the engine equipment (4, 5), so that, during a frontal collision, stresses due to impact are transmitted through it to this equipment. A stopper (8) is placed on the chassis (2) of the vehicle, behind - relative to the direction of travel - the engine equipment (4, 5), and transmits to the chassis (2) the stresses due to the impact which this equipment is thus subject during a frontal collision. Applicable to the safety of occupants of advanced cabs of commercial vehicles. /P
