The restraint may be autonomous or externally controlled using any technology, and is fitted to seats on any kind of vehicle to provide restraint for the occupant of the seat. The restraint includes a detection system that monitors the release of the restraint, alerting the driver, and may automatically prevent starting of the vehicle if a restraint is released.
