Calculation of torque for the positive loop on IC engines requiring higher efficiency and lower emissions

The torque of an IC engine is determined by calculating the mean indicated pressure of the positive loop as a function of cylinder volume. The positive loop represents the working of the engine with all valves closed and the mean indicated pressure is obtained as the product of the mean indicated pressure for a richness of one and optimum advance multiplied by the coefficient of richness and by the advancement .
