PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent catalytic effect in the ring-opening polymn. of a cyclic monomer without causing the degradation in properties of the resulting polymer even when the catalyst for the polymn. is contained in the polymer while facilitating the control of the structure ofthe main chain or polymer ends of the polymer by using a hydrolase as the catalyst. ;CONSTITUTION: A hydrolase is used as the catalyst for a ring-opening polymn. of a cyclic monomer. It can be used for catalyzing a ring-opening homopolymn., a ring-opening copolymn., and a ring-opening addition polycondensation. Though any hydrolase can be used with any cyclic monomer without any specific limitation, an esterase is used preferably with a lactone or with a cyclic carbonate and a protease or an acid amidase is used preferably with a lactam. It is desirable that a hydrolase which can hydrolytically cut a chemical bond of the monomer is selected corresponding to the structure of the monomer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
