PURPOSE:To provide a base for sintered substrate of sintered type electrode having a satisfactory adhesion of a slurry mainly containing nickel powder and a large adhesive force with the sintered body part. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a porous metal plate such as a punching metal is plated, and then heated for oxidation to make the surface uneven. The roughness of the surface is enhanced to 0.8-3.0 in central line average roughness (Ra), whereby a base is manufactured.
