PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 type transparent crystallized glass which does not cause fine cracks even if exposed to a sulfuric acid-contg. atmosphere for a long time by depositing a β-quartz solid soln. as principal crystals and providing a specified average coefft. of linear thermal expansion and a specified β-OH content. ;SOLUTION: The transparent crystallized glass has -10 to 10×10-7/°C average coefft. of linear thermal expansion in the range of 30-380°C and ≥0.35/mm β-OH content and preferably contains Li2O, SiO2 and Al2O3 in such a way that the weight ratio of Li2O to SiO2+Al2O3 ranges from 0.058 to 0.031. The compsn. of the glass consists of, by weight, 55-75% SiO2, 15-30% A12O3, 2-5% Li2O, 0-3% Na2O, 0-3% K2O, 0-5% MgO, 0-3% ZnO, 0-5% BaO, 0-5% TiO2, 0-4% ZrO2, 0-5% P2O5, 0-2.5% As2O3, 0-2.5% Sb2O3 and 0-2.5% SnO2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
