PURPOSE: To obtain the food/beverage useful for preventing gastric ulcer, free from any concern for side effect development or the recurrence of the disease after ending its administration, etc., containing an antioxidant found in cacao beans. ;CONSTITUTION: This food/beverage contains, as active ingredient, an antioxidant extracted from cacao beans as feedstock with hot water or ethanol. The extract liquor is purified by chromatography to obtain epicatechin and analogous compounds in the active fraction 2.
