Jellyfish invasion detection method at seawater intake

PURPOSE:To detect without fail incoming of jellyfishes to a seawater intake in a power plant where seawter is used as coolant. CONSTITUTION:A number of ropes 10 for spreading jellyfishe-precluding nets thereon are stretched between a curtain wall 3 and a sinker 13 on a seawater intake 1, and the jellyfishe-precluding nets 2 are spread on each of the ropes 10. A load cell is provided to the rope in the middle out of many ropes 10. Drag of the jellyfish-precluding nets 2 caused by attachment of the jellyfishes to the jellyfish-precluding nets 2 is detected by the load cell, and thereby the state of incoming of the jellyfishes to the seawater intake can be detected.
