PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a using method of a dry film which enables imaging with light by using a photo-imaging film comps. which is in a stable water-based emulsion state. SOLUTION: A photo-imaging comps. having 25-60wt.% solid content is applied on a first substrate. This compsn. contains an acid-contg. polymer, ethylene-type unsatd. monomers, a photoinitiator or photoinitiator system, water 0-5wt.% soln. polymer based on the whole polymer weight present in the compsn., and 1-25wt.% org. solvent based on the whole weight of water and org. solvent. The acid-contg. polymer partially neutralized and is produced from such a polymer precursor that has 90 to 160 acid value before neutralized and 1-15% of the acid-contg. groups are neutralized with base. The applied compsn. is dried to form a photo-imaging layer on the first substrate. The layer is exposed for an image to form an image part and a nonimage part, and the layer after exposure having the imaging part and the nonimaging part is developed to form an image on the first substrate.
