PURPOSE: To produce an antibacterial and antifungal ceramic product excellent in durability by using a glaze additive composed of a glass composition and silver phosphate alone or in combination with another glaze. ;CONSTITUTION: This antibacterial and antifungal glaze additive is composed of a glass composition and silver phosphate and prepared by blending 40 to 55wt.% SiO2, 5 to 10wt.% Al2O3, 5 to 15wt.% B2O3, 1 to 7wt.% CaO, 7 to 12wt.% SrO, 5 to 10wt.% Na2O+K3O, 5 to 20wt.% Ag2O and 0.5 to 5wt.% P2O5. An antibacterial and antifungal ceramic product can be obtained by applying the glazE additive to the surface of a ceramic product after mixing another glaze therewith or without mixing it and applying a calcination treatment and a fixation treatment thereto.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
