PURPOSE: To provide a sense of moderation when selecting manual operations in using the speed change controller of an automatic transmission which is equipped with a manual operation selecting mechanism. ;CONSTITUTION: Displacement detection means 12a-12g each of which is connected to an automatic speed change gate 101 to detect displacements of manual operation selecting gates 102, 103 and of a shift lever 11 on the gates are provided to the main body 10 of a speed change controller 1, and the shift lever 11 is connected to a manual valve 42 not via a separating mechanism. The manual operation selecting gates 102, 103 are oriented in the same direction as the automatic speed change gate 101 and are equal in length to the forward travel range or the automatic speed change gate 101. Displacement of the shift lever 11 is transmitted to the manual valve 42 via an interlock mechanism 2 even at the selection of manual operations, in which case a sense of moderation can be obtained by a detent mechanism 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
