Call admission control method of ATM switching network

PURPOSE:To secure desired communication quality by judging reception propriety for a new call based on the real use conditions of switch cell buffers on a candidate route. CONSTITUTION:An ATM node 11 is provided with a switch 12 executing an exchange processing, plural switch cell buffers 13 buffering a cell concerning the exchange processing and a call reception control mechanism 14 controlling whether the new call is to be received or not when there is a call connection request from a terminal 21. The call reception control mechanism 14 is connected to respective switch cell buffers 13 and real use amount information on the switch cell buffers 13 is given to the mechanism 14 so as to control the buffers. The mechanism 14 judges the propriety of call reception by using real use amount information. Thus, the wrong estimation of the estimation band of a transmission line is suppressed and necessary communication quality is secured.
