PURPOSE: To electromagnetically and efficiently apply rotational vibration exciting force of arbitrary frequency to a rotational body, and damp vibration by electromagnetically applying vibration the same in amplitude as and opposite in phase to the unbalanced vibration of the rotational body, to the rotational body. ;CONSTITUTION: A ring-like permanent magnet 10 is magnetized in two polarities and installed on a rotational body 16. A ring-like stator 12 generates rotational magnetic field by controlling current-carrying to a coil. A vibration power source 14 variable in frequency supplies ac current to the coil. The permanent magnet 10 and the stator 12 are arranged such that their magnetic diameter have different measurement, and they are faced to each other in the same direction as the magnetized direction. Rotational vibration is applied to the rotational body 16 which is supported by means of a bearing by mutual function of the rotational magnetic field generated by the stator and the permanent magnet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
