PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an ordinary user to easily understand the meaning of the data showing the operation of a display controller that is displayed by a support device in a programmable controller support system which includes the display controller that displays the data showing the operating state of a programmable controller and the support device that is connected to the display controller and displays the data showing the operating state of the display controller. ;SOLUTION: This system includes a display controller 1 which displays the data showing the operating state of a PLC 8 and a support device (host computer) 9 which is connected to the controller 1. The controller 1 has a communication means 72 which sends the data showing the operating state of the controller 1 and the name information related to the said data to the outside. The device 9 has a display means 93 which displays those said data and name information which are sent from the controller 1 on a display 10 and an operating information storage means 94 which stores these data and name information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
