PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a generation method for arbitrary-view point picture which reproduces a natural arbitrary-view point picture in real time in a platform which has an operation capability and a memory capacity of a PC level. ;SOLUTION: This method has a step 501 where a multi-view point picture is inputted, steps 502 to 511 where the multi-view point picture is encoded, and steps 512 to 513 where feature points of which the estimation of coordinates seems to be easy are obtained from points on an object face to generate a feature point list consisting of information which indicates coordinates of these feature points and ranges of the view point where these feature points are effectively seen and are encoded.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
