PURPOSE: To obtain a small size lightweight motor by inserting a copper rod into a rotor core slot and decreasing the secondary resistance and thereby the slip. ;CONSTITUTION: Copper based rods 21 are inserted into a large number of rotor core slots 20a in a laminate rotor core 20 of thin steel plate in the outer diameterical direction thereof. Al based end rings 22 are formed on the opposite end faces of the rotor core 20 by inserting an Al based metal having conductivity of about 60% into the gap between the copper based rod 21 and the rotor core slot 20a. A rotor 23 comprises the rotor cores 20, the copper based rods 21, and the Al based end rings 22 and disposed oppositely to a laminate stator core 24 of thin steel plate. Since the copper based rod 21 is inserted into the rotor core slot 20a, the secondary resistance is decreased. This structure reduces the slip and produces minimum necessary torque for driving a machine having square torque characteristics.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
