PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an uniform abrasive grain layer of high density by changing an isoelectric point of an abrasive grain surface for making a discrimination between pH of the plating liquid and the isoelectric point of the abrasive grain surface. ;SOLUTION: As the fine particles of Al2O3, MgO and ZrO2 have isoelectric point higher in pH than pH of the plating liquid by 3 or more, the fine particles do not aggregate and uniformly disperse in the plating liquid. As an isoelectric point of the TiO2 fine particles is approximately same as pH of the plating liquid, they partially aggregate. By coating the diamond abrasive grain with Al2O3, MgO and ZrO2, the diamond abrasive grain can be uniformly dispersed in the plating liquid without aggregation. By making a discrimination between the isoelectric point of the abrasive grain surface and pH of the plating liquid by more than ±3 by treating the surface of the abrasive grain, the abrasive grain can be uniformly dispersed in the plating liquid and uniformly deposited on a base material and a base plate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
