PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, capable of removing or suppressing halitosis and exhibiting sufficient effects on removal of the halitosis due to synergistic effects of a specific natural plant extract and specific polysaccharides, having deodorizing effects and used in combination and useful as foods or medicines, etc. CONSTITUTION:A composition for removing or suppressing halitosis is obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. one or more ingredients selected from an extract of Gynostemma pentaphyllum Makino and decocted aqueous extract essence of vegetable fibrous substances (preferably further extracting the aqueous extract with an organic solvent) selected from soybean (especially defatted soybean) and saccharides (especially defatted saccahrides) with (B) 1-10000 pts.wt., preferably 5-1000 pts.wt. saccharides (which may be contained in a state of an extract of the aforementioned plant) contained in a plant belonging to the genus Sasa such as Sasa albomarginata Makino et Shibata, Sasa yahikoensis Makino, Sasa megalophylla Makino et Uchida, Sasa heterotricha Makino, Sasa septentrionalis Makino or Sasa nipponica Makino et Shibata. This composition has the aforementioned effects.
