QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF HIV-1 PROVIRUS DNA, AND DIAGNOSTIC KIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a diagnostic kit capable of evaluating the progress of an HIV-1-related disease and efficacy of therapy of the disease with the amount of HIV-1 provirus DNA as an index by using a primer having a sequence complementary to the base sequence of the HIV-1 provirus DNA.;SOLUTION: This kit evaluates the progress of a disease concerning HIV-1 [e.g.; acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS) or the like] and/or efficacy of the anti-HIV-1 therapy utilizing the amount of DNA of the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)-1 provirus in the sample as an index, measures the index precisely indicating the efficacy of the anti-HIV-1 therapy by utilizing the primer having complementary sequence to a part of the nucleotide sequence of the HIV-1 provirus DNA. In this kit the DNA separated from the HIV-1 provirus DNA and the prescribed primer annealed and amplified at least once at a temp. of 48±4°C and at least once at a temp. of 64±4°C, is quantitatively analyzed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
