PURPOSE: To efficiently cut and work a ceramic pipe used as the solid electrolyte pipe of e.g. a sodium-sulfur cell with high dimensional precision without causing a fault such as chippings. ;CONSTITUTION: A piece of driving shaft 4 is axially parallel to the supporting member 2 of a ceramic pipe 1 or has a specified angle therefor. A rotary cutter 3 is constituted by arranging an edge 5 for preliminary cutting and an edge 6 for regular cutting closely to the driving shaft 4.
