PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the excellent surface contact without lowering the sliding characteristic of a brake piece by providing a clearance for deformation of a soft metal member interposed in an embedding part of plural ceramic brake pieces embedded in a braking surface of a brake main body so as to be projected from the braking surface. ;SOLUTION: Brake shoes 281, 282 are formed into square trapezoid shape having a braking surface extended in the vertical direction, and provided with a brake main body 30 formed of a metal having a rectangular recessed part 29 at a braking surface side thereof. This outside inclined surface contacts with an inside inclined surface of a guide member. A rectangular holding block 31 made of metal is embedded in the recessed part 29 of the main body 30. The holding block 31 has a plurality of large diameter cylindrical shaped-hole 32 bored from a side of braking face, small diameter cylindrical holes 33 concentrically communicated with plural large diameter cylindrical holes 32 opened in a surface opposite to the braking surface. The holding block 31 is fixed to the main body 30 by plural screws 34. Stabilized high braking characteristic can be thereby realized without lowering the braking characteristic.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
