PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a useful substance can efficiently be produced according to safe and simple operations without any fear of environmental pollution with a virus when the virus, etc., containing a gene encoding a useful protein integrated therein are inoculated into an insect such as silkworm to infect the insect therewith and the proliferation thereof is then carried out to mass-produce the useful substance. ;SOLUTION: A virus inclusion body is purified by a sedimentation velocity centrifugation method and then dissolved in a dilute aqueous solution of sodium carbonate to carry out an enzymic treatment of a liberated virus and sodium iodide is added before precipitation and recovery of a viral DNA with an alcohol when separating and purifying the viral DNA from the virus in a method for promoting the infection and transfer of the viral DNA into a host and proliferating the virus comprising mixing the DNA separated and purified from the virus with an aqueous solution containing a cationic lipid and percutaneously inoculating the DNA into an insect such as silkworm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
