PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clearly and rapidly determine the hazard of a plant or the like caused by being exposed to a doubtful pest-controlling agent by inoculating an enzyme-deleted microorganism cultivate with an extract of a part of a plant or the like, incubating the cultured material, and comparing the growth increment of the microorganism with that of the counterpart or the like. ;SOLUTION: An extract of a part of a plant, an insect or a pathogenic organism is prepared, and a cultivate of an enzyme-deleted microorganism [e.g. Escherichia coli AB2826 strain (deposited number ATCC 202209)] is inoculated with the prepared material. The inoculated material is incubated for a standard time, and the growth increment of the incubated maierial is compared with that of either of the counterpart thereof or a standard material to intend to evaluate the kind and degree of the hazard caused by the exposure to a doubtful past-controlling agent. The hazard in a plant, an insect or a pathogenic organism caused by the exposure to the doubtful pest-controlling agent (e.g. glyphosate) is determined by the evaluation of the growth increment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
